Moodbidri: The police on Friday, March 24 arrested a person in connection with a life threat issued to three Congress leaders here.

Sachin Shetty, a resident of Eedu village in Karkala taluk is the arrested.

It is gathered that on March 21, Arun Kumar, Vice president of Valvadi Gram Panchayat received calls from three different numbers threatening him as also to the lives of Abhaychandra Jain and Youth Congress leader Mithun Rai. Arun had lodged a complaint with the police in this regards.

The caller said that the three leaders would be killed during a temple feast at Eedu on April 5.

It is said that Arun Kumar had raised objection to a video clipping, that was doing rounds in Whatsapp, depicting a verbal attack on Abhaychandra Jain at Daregudde where after he had received the threat.
