Let the dogs out! KCC holds National-level canine show

Mangaluru: The dog show held here on January 21 at the Nehru Maidan, was like paradise for several dog lovers, who not only got to spend time with some of the friendly creatures but, also got a chance to see various kinds of dogs gathered at the grounds to participate in the show.

For ages, dogs have been known as man’s best friend, and any person who has a dog would agree with the term, as just spending a few moments cuddled with these majestic, gentle, and sometimes ferocious beasts, can help relieve stress.

Organised by the Karavali Canine Club, the National-level dog show saw 180 canines arriving from various areas like Chennai, Punjab, Mangaluru, Madikeri, Pune, Kolapur, Hyderabad, and Mysuru, parading the grounds with their proud owners.

There were 31 different breeds entered into the contest of which there were Indian breeds like the Rajapalayam from Tamil Nadu and Mudhol Hound from Karnataka, the Japanese breed Akita, Maltese a Central Mediterranean breed, Dogue de Bordeaux a German breed, the Doberman, German Shepherds, and the Miniature Pinscher. The star attration of the show however, was the Miniature Pinscher.

The show was inaugurated by Badrinath Kamath, BJP Industries Cell State Convener.

The judges were Yogish Tuteja, Shharath Sharama and Elena Kuleshova from Russia.
