Mangalore : Senior Congress leader and party candidate from Dakshina Kannada constituency B Janardhana Poojari has challenged Gujarat CM and BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi to  contest  from DK constituency if he has the courage to do so.

Addressing press persons at the District Congress office on March 10, Monday,  Poojari said “ Modi is trying to contest from the constituency of Murali Manohar Joshi. Let him contest from DK constituency if he has the courage. People here will give him a befitting reply.”

Continuing, Poojari said “The  BJP prior to the previous Assembly elections had argued that the Congress would bite dust if Modi visited the state. But nothing changed even after Modi visit. Modi during his visit to Mangalore later had said he had come  accepting the challenge of a senior Congress leader. If he accepts the challenge now,  he should contest from DK constituency,” Poojari said.

He said he had questioned  Modi about his marital status six months ago, but has not received a reply until now.”Modi  has a wife named Yashoda Ben whom he has abandoned and  thus done injustice to his wife.  An individual who could not  show love to his wife and protect her cannot protect the nation,” Poojari launched a scathing attack on the BJP PM candidate.

To a question about the alleged affair of Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi with a foreigner, Poojari said there was nothing special about  it   as such things are common in these times. “But Modi’s matter is different. He is not revealing details about his wife with whom he has married legally,” Poojari said.

Ibrahim Kodijal, Interim President of District Congress,  Mithun Rai, District Youth Congress President, Abhayachandra Jain, State Minister, JR Lobo, MLA, Vijaykumar Shetty, former MLA and others were present.
