Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing celebrates graduation day

Mangaluru: Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing and Laxmi Memorial Institute of Nursing celebrated Annual Day and Graduation Day here at A J Institute of Medical Sciences, Kuntikana on Wednesday.

The programme commenced with the entry of graduates in a procession by the way of traditional pattern followed by the dignitaries. The guests and the graduates were welcomed by a prayer dance followed by formal stage function.

After inaugurating the formal function, J.R Lobo, MLA of Mangaluru South constituency stressed upon the role of nurses and how well it is significant in caring for patients with the use of scientific knowledge.

He asked the graduates to consider nursing as a field of service. “It’s a noble field. Your work is much admired. You are the ambassador of your college. Treat each patient with love and care”, he advised the graduates.

A J Shetty, president of Laxmi Memorial Education Trust, presided over the function. He asked the graduates to make use of their knowledge to serve the needy.
Earlier, the graduates were awarded with the certificates. Prof Larissa Martha Sams, principal of Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing presented the annual report of the college.

Dr. Nagarajaih, Ashritha P. Shetty, Dr. Prashanth Shetty and Prof Theresa L Mendonca, vice-principal were among other dignitaries present on the dais. The function was concluded by a cultural programme and was followed by dinner.
