Kundapur, Mar 23: Horale Saroja, a suspected naxal has been absolved of all the charges against her. The twenty-nine-year-old Saroja,
with 22 cases slapped against her had been lodged in the jail since the last four years.
It may be recalled that Shimoga district police had arrested Saroja from Horale in Megur Gram Panchayat in Koppa taluk of Chikmagalur district and thirty-seven-year-old Devendra from Soraba in Shimoga district and were lodged in Mysore jail. It was during February 2010, both had been entrusted to Udupi district police, to face trial for their alleged anti-social activities committed within the limits of Amasebail and Shankarnarayana police stations in the taluk.
Saroja had been charged for offences under various sections including treason, violation of Arms Act and destruction of public property. Out of the above cases, ten were in Kundapur court alone. Among them, nine had been dismissed for want of evidence. The last case too was dismissed on Friday March 22.
