Kundapur : A person who barged into a house and attempted to outrage the modesty of a woman, was thrashed by members of the public at Kandlur here on May 29, Wednesday night. The injured person  Dinesh Acharya, the co-Convenor of Bhajrangdal in Kundapur, has been hospitalized.

A complaint has been lodged  with the police. Dinesh, a resident of Kandlur had entered the house near the mosque and tried to molest the woman. When she raised a cry, locals gathered and thrashed Dinesh.

Meanwhile, police have arrested Obedulla,  Jeffrey, Mohammad Rafiq and Muzammil on charges of assaulting Dinesh. Two others are reportedly absconding.

A case of attempt to rape has been registered against Dinesh. Dinesh too has lodged a counter complaint.
