Mangaluru: Shrikar Kukkedi, President of SC/ST wing of Congress alleged that the Narendra Modi-led union government had never shown any concern for the Dalits during its five-year term.

Speaking to reporters at the district Congress office here on Thursday, April 11, Shrikar Kukkedi said, “While Congress has been protecting our Constitution, BJP is trying to destroy it. Hence, people should reject the Bharatiya Janata Party”, he said.

Terming BJP candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel as inactive, Shrikar said, “Though the Dalits have been facing several problems, Nalin never attempted to address them. Then, why should we vote for him? All Dalits should support coalition candidate Mithun Rai and help him to win in the election with a good margin”, he said.

Dalit leaders Raghuraj Kadri, Premanath Ballalbagh, Dinesh, Nagaveni and Rohith Ullal were present.
