Kukke Subrahmanya: Richest temple of the state-Kukke Sri Subrahmanya temple has been hit by paucity of water in the worst possible way.

Over the last few weeks the temple has been struggling to meet its water requirements for religious purposes. After stopping the bottled theertha prasadam, the temple depended on the waterhole in river Kumaradhara on Saturday to meet its water demands.
The River Kumaradhara, which has been reduced to being just a small pocket of water, is about 2.5 kms away from the temple and the devotees and volunteers were seen connecting a pipe to the waterhole at Posarugudde here to get water to the temple.
In a ‘thanksgiving’ ceremony, the vedic scholars, devotees and others performed ‘Ganga Pooja’ at the Posarugudde, thanking Goddess Ganga for the last few pockets of water in the temple town.
According to the executive officer of the Kukke Subramanya temple, C U Poovaiah, the water the temple is getting is enough for carrying out the bottling of teertha for distribution among devotees.
