KSRTC bus head on collision with a car ; Two dead

Bantwala: In a major accident that occurred between a KSRTC bus and a Santro Car, two of them present in the car have been killed on the spot.

The accident is said to have occurred today at 9:30 am on the national highway NH75 near Purlipaadi, Kalladka.

The speeding KSRTC bus which was plying from Mangalore to Puttur collided with a Santro Car which was heading in the opposite direction.

It is learnt that the car belongs to Fr John Jossy Sequeira (35) from Uppinangady, serving in Shimoga diocese and he was said to be travelling with his  relative Loveleena who was also killed in the accident. She was an engineering student.

As per the information obtained, Fr Jossy Sequeira along with his relative was travelling in a car from Uppinangady to Mother of God Church, Mogarnad to attend a relative’s wedding.

Only two of them were present in the car.The impact of the collision was so high that the car is completely mutilated and there was no chance of survival.

The case has been registered with the Bantwal Town Police Station and investigations are on. A huge crowd had gathered at the accident spot.
