Kruti Muttagi from Bengaluru is state PU topper

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district has bagged first place in the state in overall PU results but, the coveted position of state topper was taken away by Kruti Muttagi of VVS Sardar Patel PU College Basaveshvaranagar in Bengaluru. She has bagged 597 out of 600 marks in science stream. Meanwhile, the second place is shared by two students- Mohan SL from Master PU College, Hoysalanagar, Hasan and Ankitha P from Govind Das College, Surathkal, Dakshina Kannada with 595 marks.

In the commerce stream, Varshini M Bhat from Vidyamandir PU College Malleshwara, Bengaluru and Amritha SR from ASC PU College, Rajajinagar, Bengaluru stood first with 595 marks. Poovitha R from Mount Carmel College Vasanthnagar, Bengaluru has bagged 594 marks.

Meanwhile, Bellari district shined bright as far as art stream is concerned as all the three state toppers hail from a single college in Bellari. Swathi S from Indu PU College, Kotturu in Bellari bagged first place with 595 marks, followed by Ramesh SV with 593 marks and Goravara Kavyanjalai with 588 marks.

In Dakshina Kannada Neha P Mane, student of Experts PU College, Mangaluru has secured 100 per cent in four subjects- Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Statistics – and scored 588 out of the grand total of 600. MM Chanchal from Experts PU College Kodialbail totaled 589 out of the grand total.

 

Hard work and self discipline played role in success: Kruti’s mother

As Kruti was unavailable for comments, her mother Arathi Hanumanthu Muttagi spoke to NewsKarnataka and said, “I am very happy about my daughter’s success in PU exam. Kruthi has been working hard all these years. She has also scored good marks in the SSLC examinations. She has been regular in attending classes. She herself prepare the time-table for preparing exams. God’s grace and her hard work are the reasons for the success in the PU exam. My daughter is preparing for writing National Eligibility cum Entrance Test.”

Kruti’s family hails originally from Bagalkote and has been living in Bengaluru over the last 15 years. Her mother Arathi is a former teacher and father Hanumanth Muthagi is a software engineer.
