Mangaluru: Blood Help Care Karnataka and Rudrasena Kasargod joined hands to help single donor platelets reach the Carewell Hospital & Research Centre in Kasargod for a patient who was in dire need of the same.

The blood platelets were donated by Pudu Gram Panchayat member and Mangalore Youth Congress general secretary Hashir Perimar.

He donated the blood at KMC Hospital, where the platelets were isolated from the blood, a procedure that takes about two hours to complete.

Rudrasena Kasargod vice president Sudesh P and secretary Sajini arrived at the Talapady check post along with a doctor’s certificate and received the blood platelets from the Blood Help Care Karnataka members.

The platelets were isolated from the blood on Monday morning and sent to Kasargod, informed Blood help care Karnataka, honorary president Naseer Hussain.
