KMC Hospital, 2nd in state to have 16 Slice Big Bore CT Machine

Manipal :  A hi-end  16 Slice Big Bore CT Machine  was inaugurated at the Shirdi Sai Baba Cancer Centre at  KMC Hospital Manipal on July 14, Sunday by State Minister for Health and Family Welfare UT Khader. KMC Hospital is the second hospital in the state to have this ultra modern equipment.

The 16 Slice Big Bore CT Machine ensures that the patient is least inconvenienced and covers a large portion in a short duration. It also does CT Angiography.

Khader who spoke on the occasion, said the government intends to introduce a scheme  to  facilitate early detection of cancer. He also said the government believes in the prevention is better than cure philosophy rather than going in for setting up of more hospitals.

He informed that Union Minister Gulam Nabi Azad will inaugurate the scheme of providing iron tablets to fight anemia in girl students, on July 17.

Dr Ramdas M Pai, Chancellor of Manipal University, Dr HS Ballal, Pro-Chancellor, Dr K Ramnarayan, Vice Chancellor, Dr M Dayananda, KMC Medical Superintendent, Dr KV Rajgopal, Chief of Radiology Department and others were present.
