Mangaluru: The police have registered a case against 11 students from Kerala, studying at various institutions across the city, for registering to vote in the Mangaluru South constituency while still registered in their home state.

The students that have been named in the complaint are Nibhiya Thomas, Merin Mary, K V Jose, Steephie John, Ciji Biju, Remya Jose, Remil Reju, Poornendu, V S Ramya Ram, Anjali Tom and Liji George.

The students have been booked under several sections of the Indian Penal Code as well as the Representation of People’s Act.
