Mangalore: The Dakshina Kannda Zila Panchayat CEO Thulasi Maddineni has given a call to take the maximum benefit of the new scheme “Kayaka Sangha” to be implemented under the Mahatma Gandhi Employment program.
She was speaking in the training program on Honey culture and popularizing cashew crop which was organized by the Zila Panchayat and State Horticulture dept. in commemoration of the father of Horticulture Dr. Marigowda’s birthady.
She said that the program Kayaka Sangha focuses on forming a team of 20 under the Mahatma Gandhi Employment program. Later the team has to be registered in Gram Panchayat and they have to take a development work in their locality. The administration will complete all the necessary formalities within 20 days from the submission of the application and once the task is approved, the team can go ahead with their task.
The district administration has set the target of forming 1000 teams by the end of this month and the administration is ready to answer any queries to the common man.
Earlier, the district in-charge minister Ramanatha Rai inaugurated the program and expressed his thoughts over forest friendly agriculture. MLA of Mangalore South constituency presided the program.
