Kasargod :   With drugs pedling going on unabatedly in the district,  in a latest case, the third  in a span of two weeks, the police  have arrested a woman  and have seized  6 kg ganja from her.

The arrested woman has been identified as Zuhara (45).  The woman was found moving suspiciously in the bus stand area on March 27, Wednesday evening, when the police enquired her. Later, she was found in possession of six kg of ganja concealed in paper and plastic bags.

She was immediately arrested and taken to the station, where during interrogation she revealed that she was taking the ganja to be supplied to a person in Kannur.

In earlier cases, police had seized 54 kg of ganja from two persons on March 14 and another 110 kg ganja from two others near Talangere on March 20. There  is  suspicion that the drugs racket was operative in the district by making use of the services of innocent women and children too.
