Kasargod woman abducted, gang-raped, stabbed

Kasargod: Sexual crimes against women seem to have become a never ending ordeal. In a latest case reported from the district, three persons allegedly abducted a  young woman, gang-raped her  and  stabbed her while she tried to escape. The incident was reported on Monday, August 4.

The 21-year-old girl was returning home from Bayar market, at Sunnada Bayar near Paivalike when a group of three men dragged her to a rubber plantation and allegedly raped her.

When the girl tried to escape they stabbed her. Hearing her cries locals rushed to the spot, by when the assailants had fled the scene. The girl was later admitted to the Kasargod hospital.

Reportedly, the locals have identified one of the accused. As news spread like wildfire, people gathered outside the house of the accused and began a protest. Locals have said that Zakariya is an accused in several cases.

Police have registered a case against three persons including  Bayar Muligadde resident Sakki alias Zakariya. A search has been launched to nab the culprits.
