Kasargod : As news of  the containers  washing ashore spread  like  wild  fire hundreds of people arrived at the beach on Tuesday creating tension and curiosity, two more containers were spotted on the shore on Wednesday. The containers were spotted at Kottikulam beach. In addition, cylinders were found at Mogral Puttur in Kasargod.

Sources say the  containers may be parts of ship which sunk on June 17  on its way to Oman. The ship Mol Comfort, sailing from Singapore to Europe, had sunk, broken into pieces and caught fire. There were 26 sailors from various countries aboard, and all of them were rescued. Most of the containers in the ship had sunk and floated away.

Items like refridgerators and football were found in kasargod, karwar and Lakshadweep shores and it is suspected that the items belonged to the same ship.As there is fear that the gas may leak if they are moved, the containers remain at the beach.

Officials of the Indian Oil Corporation and Scientists have been called and further steps will be taken only after thier inspection. The Kumble police are investigating the matter.
