Kasargod Tense after Miscreants attack

Kasargod: At the backdrop of recent facebook posts on religious abuse, the incidents of stone pelting, protests are held across the district.


The miscreants pelted stones on buses at Kumble and Shiriya and at worship centers in Kannatippara at Uppala.  The miscreants damaged the windshields of two buses that were plying on Perla – Badiyadka route and were parked nearby filling station at Shantipall, near Kumble.

A state-owned bus plying from Mangalore to Kasargod was damaged when a mob pelted stones at Shirya, near here on Sunday July 21 night.  Kumble police registered a case in this regard.

The stones were pelted on Badriya Jumma masjid at Kannatippara – Uppala on Monday July 22.  Three window panes were damaged.  Manjeshwar police registered a case in this regard.  The buses plying on Kumble, Badiyadka, Mulleria, Perla, Peral, Kannur and Bambrana route were stalled the services fearing mob attack.  The security has been beefed up in Kumble, Naikapu, Shantipalla, Shiriya, Kannatippara, Hosangady, Uppala and nearby places.

The police arrested a person who was fleeing in a motorcycle after pelting stones on a worship center.  The arrested has been identified as Prashant, a native of Mayeeppady.  The police are likely to arrest two more persons who were involved in this incident.
