Mangaluru: A 34-year-old man was killed and a customs officer suffered injuries after two cars collided here at Uppala Gate on March 5.

Abdul Razak, from Alampady who was employed in Saudi Arabia is identified as the deceased. Vipin, a customs officer who sustained injuries in the mishap was shifted to nearby hospital.

The incident occured when Razak was heading towards Kasargod while Vipin was on his way to Mangaluru. Soon after the two cars collided, locals shifted the victims to the hospital but Razak was declared dead on arrival.

Manjeshwar police have registered a case in this regard.
