Kasargod: Kasargod police have seized nearly ten kg of ganja from four persons who were transporting the same in the Delhi-Ernakulam train. The four were arrested as soon as they alighted at the Kasargod railway station.
Those arrested have been identified as Mohammed Riyaz (35), PM Naushad (31), KM Abdul Sattar (51) and KM Imtiyaz (29). Though initially they refused to admit that they were smuggling ganja, checking of their baggages found that they had five packets of ganja. Each packet weighted 2 kg.
Interrogations of the four revealed that they had smuggled ganja by train even earlier. Drug trafficking has become rampant in the district as is evident from the fact that the police had seized nearly four tons of ganja in the past six months in the district.
