
Mangaluru: If you are interested in music and want to learn something about music, you can join ‘Karunbithil Shibira’, an annual musical camp being held in the remote village of Nidle, situated on the Dharmastala – Nelliady.
There is no fee for this week-long camp, which will be held between May 14 and 19. The participants will get a chance to interact and get tips from the veteran musicians like Vidwan T V Gopalakrishnan, Vidwan V V Subrahmanyam, Udupi Gopalakrishnan, Bombay Jayashri Ramanath, Abhishek Raghuram, Srimushnam V Raja Rao, Thiruvarur Bhakthavathsalam and many others.
Violinist Vidwan Vittal Ramamurthy, started this musical camp in 2000. He told reporters here on Monday, April 29 that this year the camp is going to have more interesting and innovative programmes to the participants.
Oscar nominee Bombay Jayashri will kick start the camp with a grand concert and Dharmastala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade will participate in the valedictory programme on May 19, he informed.
Vittal Ramamurthy informed that food and accommodation will be provided to the participants free of cost. However, participants should be committed to learning music.
