Moodbidri: Karnataka high court Chief Justice, D H Waghela inaugurated the Moodbidri court complex here on Sunday in a function organised by Public works department, District judiciary and Moodbidri Bar Association.
While addressing the gathering he said the court will provide timely and genuine justice to the locals. Like infrastructure and facilities to the lawyers, imparting justice also one of the key aspect of the judiciary, he opined. He appreciated the work of court complex and said that he has never seen such a modern court building with facilities either at the taluk level, in Karnataka or Gujarat.

High court judge and administrative judge for Dakshina Kannada, Justice A N Venugopal Gowda said that the present court complex will be upgraded soon.
Judge of the high court, Justice N K Patil, high court registrar, B A Patil, Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, B Ramanath Rai, youth affairs, sports, and fisheries minister, Abhay Chandra Jain, founder president of Moodbidri Bar Association, Bahubali Prasad, PWD Mangaluru division executive engineer, A G Dharmaraj, and Karnataka State Bar Council president P P Hegde, were present.
Sudhakar Shetty, contractor of the building was felicitated. Judge of chief district and sessions court, Uma M G, welcomed. P Sugandh Kumar compered the programme. Moodbidri Bar Association president, K R Pandit, rendered vote of thanks.

The new building was constructed at a cost of around Rs 6.60 crore on a plot of land measuring 1.95 acres For those who need to wait their turn for the hearing, the court has come up with a spacious waiting hall. The court complex has a huge parking facility, Lok adalat hall, lawyer’s hall, conference hall, store room, kitchen, and a canteen and toilets for both men and women.
All the courts are located on the first floor. There is a main hall, court office, justice chamber, record room, men and women lockup, police room, AGP and APP room and a room for the lawyers association office bearers.
E-business facility will also available soon. There is also a room for equipments and a room for witnesses. There are 45 rooms in total.
It is the only hobali centre in Karnataka, to have such a court with modern facilities.
