Karkala, Mar 29: The Court Road in Karkala has turned into a virtual dumping ground, thanks to the apathy of the elected representatives as well as authorities concerned.

The place behind the historic Anantha Padmanabha Temple in the town is in a horrific mess with wastes scattered all around. Though a councillor had once raised the issue in the TMC meeting, it has been a futile exercise.

The TMC, which has initiated the side drain works on various roads in the town, has however neglected the Court Road where it s a common sight during monsoons to see rain water flowing royally on the road, which would have turned into a puddle.

During the rest of the season, it is the thick cloud of dust that adds to the inconvenience of the people whenever a vehicle passes by. As if this is not suffice, wastes are blatantly dumped on either sides of the road.

Local residents say their repeated complaint to the TMC have been of no avail so far.
