Bantwal : Kalladka which witnessed violence following a clash between two groups during a Congress Harmony meet on March 8, Saturday is returning to normalcy. Meanwhile prohibitory orders under Section 144 has been extended till March 11.




On March 9, Sunday, roads in Kalladka wore a deserted look with most shops and business establishments downing their shutters. Police maintained strict vigil in Kalladka, Bolangady, Melkar, BC Road, Kaikamba, Maripalla and other areas in the taluk.
Dr Sharanappa, SP, Ravi, Hasan ASP are campoing in Bantwal while Bantwal DySP Rashmi Paraddy is overseeing the security arrangements.
On March 8, Saturday midnight some miscreants damaged tube lights installed on the road leading to the Mittabail mosque at Kaikamba where a Urus is organised. At around 11.50 pm on Saturday, two youth named Dhananjaya and Kishore of Kanapade who were heading towards a petrol bunk at BC road enroute a nemotsava at Meranajalu were attacked by a group.
A house of a Mathaji of Sri Rama Vidya Kendra of Kalladka as well as the Vidya Kendra was also stoned.
A total of seven cases have been registered in connection with the violentincidents.
Meanwhile, police have arrested Poovappa Tailor , Guruvappa and Keshava of Kalladka in connection with the violence. There is also information that Congress leader Ivan D’Souza and BJP MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and some BJP leaders have visited Kalladka to meet the injured youth.
Vehicles set ablaze : Five two wheelers at the scene of the clash and a Qualis vehicle of Isubu parked at Mangilapadavu were set afire by miscreants earlier on Saturday. Two wheelers of Aithappa Naik, Chandu Nayak, Pushparaj and Ritesh parked near Panchavati Commercial Complex were also set ablaze.
Additional police forces including KSRP and DAR have been pressed into service to avert any untoward incident.
