Kadri Park gets a new gate costing Rs 29 lakh

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada District In-Charge Minister B Ramanath Rai on Friday January 22, inaugurated the newly built entrance gate at the Kadri Park here.

The gate has been built in a bid to give a facelift to the park at a cost of Rs 29 lakh from Mangaluru South MLA JR Lobo’s fund.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Rai informed that many programmes as part of the upcoming Karavali Utsav will be held here adding that many more projects will be established in the park.

MLA Lobo said that the State government has sanctioned Rs 40 lakh to reinstall the mini train. However, the railway officials have quoted a sum of Rs 80 lakh for the project. Hence, a request will be made to the government regarding sanctioning of another Rs 40 lakh expressing hope that the project will be started soon.

Recently, Lobo had inaugurated the work pertaining to musical fountain at the old deer park here. the musical fountain with laser show is taken up at a cost of Rs 5 crore and is expected to be ready by this June.
