Mangaluru: The State government is anti-people, therefore it should be dissolved and emergency should be imposed in the State, said Dakshina Kannada district JDS president, Mohammed Kunhi.

Addressing a press meet, Kunhi said that DySP Ganapthi was a sincere officer and he knew him. “Before taking the extreme step, DySP Ganapthi in an interview said that Minister KJ George, Additional Director General of Police (intelligence) A M Prasad and lokayukta Inspector General of Police Pranab Mohanty should be held responsible if anything would happen. His suicide is one of the examples of anti-people policies of the Siddaramaiah led government, he said.

“D K Ravi’s suicide, Anupama Shenoy’s resignation, Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Shikha’s abuse incident are a few other examples of the unruliness of the State government. K J George should resign immediately. AM Prasad and Pranab Mohanty should be suspended. The CBI should investigate the case,” he added.

Kunhi also alleged that Chief Minister held a meeting in which he directed all the ministers to support George and not to give any statements against him.

Speaking alongside Kunhi, JDS leader Chengappa said, “DySP Ganapathi’s death note is missing. The case should be investigated by the CBI. We will intensify our protests if George doesn’t resign in two days”.

JDS Mangaluru, President, Vasanth Suvarna, Dakshina Kannada JDS Youth President Akshith Suvarna and others were present at the press meet.
