Jeppu Patna in Jeppinamogaru declared as ‘Active Containment Zone’

Mangaluru: With a 31-year-old man from Jeppu Patna in Jeppinamogaru village testing positive for Covid-19 today, Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh declared Jeppu Patna as an active containment zone.

This containment zone is surrounded by- East- Conoj area, West- Railway track, North- Cambridge School Building and South- Jeppu Patna Road. This containment zone with 205 population has 48 residential houses, two shops and a school.

Further, buffer zone will be an area of 5 km, around this containment zone, bound by East- Faisal Nagar, Bajal, West- Arabian Sea, North – Bikarnakatte and South- Ullal. This buffer zone consists of 32,500 residences, 925 shops and 58 offices. The total population of buffer area zone is 1,45,500.

Meanwhile, for an effective implementation of Covid-19 control measures, three executive engineers of Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) have been appointed as the incident Commanders, who will be overall in-charge of Containment Zone.

The incident Commanders will take necessary actions as specified in containment zone notification referred above.
