It’s raining results! SSLC results announced; Udupi first in state

Mangaluru: It’s raining results this season! First the Pre-University results were announced a few weeks back, next week we will get the elections results but, today… we have the much awaited SSLC results.

The 2018 SSLC examination results have just been announced by the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB). Unfortunately, the Dakshina Kannada district came in fourth this year. Overall, the Udupi district stands first in the state with a score of 88.1% followed close behind by the Uttara Kannada district. The third place goes to Chikkodi while Yadgir has come last.

Once again, girls take the cake as overall, they stand first. 78.01 per cent has been scored by the girls while 66.56 per cent has been scored by the boys.

A total of 8,38,088 students appeared for the examinations and the overall pass percentage is 71.93.

The total marks for the examinations was 625. Only two students scored cent percent, eight students secured 624 and 12 scored 623.

Pranshula Prashanth, daughter of Prashanth Kumar an electrical engineer with Aditya Birla Group (Harihar) and Chethana Prashanth, from Alva’s English Medium School has secured a total of 624 out of 625.

When reached for a comment about her study habits, Pranshula said, “I used to read my text books daily.” She also said that she plans to take up PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology) as her next step. She thanked her parents, Alva’s Institutions Chairman, Dr. Mohan Alva and her teachers for their encouragement and support.

Medha M Bhat too has secured 624. She is a student of TMA Pai English Medium School, Manipal.

Abhijna Rao, student of Kumaraswamy English Medium High School in the Sullia Taluk of Dakshina Kannada, has scored 623.

Manoj S Mallya, a student of Indralli English Medium School, Udupi has secured 623.

Around 1,342 schools have scored cent percent results, 102 of which are government schools. A total of 43 schools have scored zero, 6 of which are government schools.

Re-examinations will be held between June 21 and 28 this year.
