Kasargod: Shocking but true, looks like Kerala has become the heartland of the ISIS recruitment in India. A woman recruiter for Islamic State nabbed has made sensational revelations before the Special Investigation Team of Kerala Police that the Iraq and Syria based global terror outfit is secretly running terror classes in Kerala where so far 40 people have been indoctrinated in its ideology of jihad.
Yasmeen Ahmed, 28 was a school teacher in Kerala and she was recently arrested on the grounds of being suspected ISIS recruiter. She has reportedly told the investigators that a man named Abdul Rashid, a fugitive ISIS recruiter conducted classes in Kerala to induct the youth into the ISIS. However, the man is now based out of Afghanistan.
Working on these leads, the SIT officials have identified youth who attended these radicalisation classes conducted by Abdul Rashid in Trikkaripura in Kasargod district of Kerala. Rashid is believed to have orchestrated the disappearance of 21 youth from Kerala in the months of May and June.
Yasmeen was arrested at the Delhi airport last week, when she was about to board a flight to Kabul to join Rashid there. It is said that though she was to fly along with the 21 youth, problems with her four-year-old child’s travel documents prevented her from doing so.
It is said that Yasmeen, who hailed from Saudi Arabia came to Kerala three-years-ago after she found a job in Peace International School in Malappuram, where she met Rashid, who preached hatred in guise of Quran classes.
