Investment of Rs 12000 crore proposed at Invest Dakshina Kannada

Mangaluru: As a preparatory to Invest Karnataka, Invest Dakshina Kannada 2016, an investors’ convention was organized by the district administration at Mangaluru on Tuesday, January 12.
The Invest Karnataka 2016 is scheduled to be organised at Bengaluru from February 3.

The investors, who took part in Invest Dakshina Kannada 2016, have come up with proposals, which include Rs 10,000 crore investments by MRPL, during ‘Invest Dakshina Kannada’, an investors’ convention organized by the district administration as part of ‘Invest Karnataka 2016’.

While MRPL will increase upgrade its refinery and increase capacity by expanding its operation area by 1,050 acres, private sector company Syngine is all set to invest Rs 600 crore.

A total of 33 proposals have been submitted to the Department of Commerce and Industry, while 13 investors have sought 1,251.50 acres of land for investment. If 33 investment proposals get approved, then it will generate 4,665 cases of employment in the district.
