Ullala: A married couple, belonging to a different religions on Friday sought protection from the police, citing threat.

According to the reports, Namitha Pais, a resident of Kotekar entered wedlock with Kiran Rai of Mangala Nagara recently, according to the Hindu tradition. However, the family of the girl reportedly opposed the marriage.

On December 26, the parents of the girl had reportedly registered a complaint stating that their daughter was missing. Later, the girl entered wedlock at Arya Samaj in the city on December 27.

On Friday, the married couple registered a complaint and sought protection from the police.
