Inconvenience of fishermen due to diesel subsidy non-release to be addressed: Angara

Mangaluru: Karnataka State Minister for Fisheries S Angara has assured to draw the attention of Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa towards the problems faced by fishermen due to the non-release of diesel subsidy.

He was speaking to media persons after visiting the old fisheries’ port and meeting fishermen leaders here on Friday April 16. He also added that he would make every effort to get the pending Rs 45 crore subsidy released as soon as possible. The Minister said he has also spoken to the fishermen leaders on the works relating to the extension of the third jetty at the port.

In response to the opposition to the Coastal Berth project in Bengre, he said that the project’s benefits and drawbacks must be addressed. All locals must be taken into confidence, he added.
