Mangaluru: For the third consecutive time, city-based artist Dinesh Holla’s artwork has been chosen as the official poster of the Dieppe International Kite Festival. The 20th edition of the kite festival will be held on the lawns of Dieppe beach in France from September 8 to 16.
Held once in two years, the kite festival brings together participants from nearly 48 countries across the globe. Holla’s artwork, which was selected from among several artworks received from artisans from various countries including the US, Canada, Australia, and the European countries, will be used for the promotion of the festival across the world.
It may be recalled that Holla had designed the official poster for the festival in 2014 and 2016 as well.
Developed under the theme of ‘One sky, one earth, and one family’, the environmentalist in Holla has aptly drawn attention to global warming and the need for environmental conservation through his art.
Team Mangaluru – Sarvesh Rao, Dinesh Holla and Sathish Rao – will represent the country at this year’s festival. Remarkably, they will be showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Tulunadu via their kite designs, which include Korida Katta (cock fight) and Hampi stone chariot among others at the festival.
