Mangaluru: The Medical Superintendent (MS) of Lady Goschen hospital acting upon on this website’s report on the delay in discharging patients, has ordered doctors to discharge patients without unnecessary delay.
Newskarnataka.com, had, on April 16 posted a Special Report – (Delayed discharge of patients puts nurses at Lady Goschen hospital under stress) detailing the nature and causes of delay, causing stress to duty nurses. Within a week, MS Shakuntala M M acted on the report to resolve the problem.
A brief mail sent to Newskarnataka by a nurse requesting anonymity, said that, after the report was published on the news website, many changes had been initiated. The MS has strictly instructed doctors not make inordinate delay in discharging patients. Besides, the Air Conditioner of a Labor Room has been repaired with immediate effect, the mail informed.
MS Shakuntala speaking to Newskarnataka.com said she had ordered to discharge mothers who had undergone normal delivery in 48 hours. She added that mothers who had undergone surgery during delivery, would be discharged within in ten days depending upon their medical condition.
