Mangaluru: The Konaje Police cracked down on illegal transportation of sand and seized six lorries at Talapady Gate on Monday, November 26. The worth of seized lorries and sand is estimated at around Rs 1.25 Crore.

Konaje police was tipped off about illegal transportation of sand to Kerala on Monday. A team headed by Konaje Inspector Ravi Naik traced the lorries at Talapady gate, which were illegally transporting sand. The operation was carried out under the guidance of Commissioner of Police T R Suresh and DCPs Uma Prashanth and Hanumantharaya and under the direction of ACP Rama Rao, police sources said.

A case has been registered at Konaje Police Station in this regard.
