Mangaluru: One accused in Ibrahim Nafsan attack case has been nabbed by the police.

Ibrahim Nafsan (26) was attacked by miscreants on April 25 when he was on the way to the fishing dock in Mangaluru. The attack was followed by three more attacks on others in the same area.
Addressing a press meet at his office here, City Commissioner of Police M Chandrashekhar said that the accused arrested is Shivaraj alias Shiva (19) of Kumpala, an electrician by profession.
He said that Shiva may have had a role to play in attack on Nizam, Safwan and Saleem, which too took place on April 25 after attack on Ibrahim.
It is said that four others were involved in the attack.
The attacks had turned Ullal region tense and as precautionary measures security has been stepped up.
The commissioner said that 600 cops including 10 platoons of KSRP have been deployed in Ullal area.
A special investigation team led by ACP Kalyan Shetty, CCB inspector Valentine D’Souza, and inspectors of Konaje and Panambur police stations has been formed to investigate the attacks, said the Commissioner adding that the prohibitory orders have been clamped in Ullal area from 6 pm on April 26 to 6 am on April 27.
Without commenting much on the possibility of the attack on four youth being an act of revenge for Raju Kotian murder, the Commissioner categorically said that attack on a fruit vendor named Safwan on April 26 was not connected to Raju Kotian murder case at all.
