Mangaluru: Even as media reports are making rounds that tension is brewing inside the Congress house with regard to appointment of a Chief to Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committe, Home Minister and incumbent KPCC Chief G Parameshwar said that he will respect the decision of the high command in this matter.
“There are people in the party who are eligible for the post. But, I will go by what the high command would decide,” he said addressing reporters in Mangaluru on Tuesday during his arrival at Circuit House to hold review meeting of Western Range of police department and commissionerate jurisdiction.
He said that the Congress party is heading into an important phase where the party is going to undergo a much needed re-organisation from the grassroots-level to the All India Congress Committee-level.
The re-organisation is going to kick start on May 15 an end by October.
Speaking about senior leader SM Krishna joining the BJP, Parameshwar said that the impact of SM Krishna’s exit was zero and that the Gundlupete/Nanjangudu polls spoke elaborately about the same.
Meanwhile, speaking about senior Congress leader Vishwanath quitting the Congress to join the JD(S), Parameshwar said that Vishwanath is a senior leader, who must think of remaining in the Congress folds and working for the party.
He said that the Congress is confident of coming to power in the upcoming assembly polls as well.

Meanwhile, responding to the statement made by Minister for food and Civil Supplies UT Khader with regard to beacon light, the Home Minister, in a way stood by Khader by stating that it was a silly issue’, which neither holds profit nor any loss to anybody.
