Mangaluru: Today, income tax (I-T) operations were carried out in the coastal regions of Mangaluru. These I-T raids specifically targeted gold shops situated in various areas, including Udupi, Karkala, Kundapur, Padubidri, Brahmavar, Puttur, and other localities. Concurrently, I-T authorities conducted inspections at well-known gold retailers with showrooms spanning various parts of the coastal regions, meticulously examining their financial documents.

Earlier, the Lokayukta conducted extensive searches at 75 locations across Karnataka, encompassing cities like Bengaluru, Udupi, and Chamarajanagar.
