I have utilised Belagavi session efficiently: Ivan D’Souza

Mangaluru: MLC Ivan D’Souza has said that during the recently concluded winter session in Belagavi he attended all sessions and raised 50 questions, which are the maximum number of questions asked during the 10 day session by a member.

Speaking to the reporters at his office in Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Ivan said, ” I did not a miss a single session during the 10-day session in Belagavi and utilised the opportunity effectively. Among the 50 questions, I have asked, six starred questions which received answers in session itself”‘, he said.

Informing about the important questions he had raised in the session Ivan said, ” as I have sought the response of government on the implementation of Kasturi Rangan report, which is likely to affect 40 villages in three Taluks of Dakshina Kannada district namely Puttur, Sullia and Beltangady, government clarified that it would not implement the Kasturi Rangan report. Government also informed that it is against the Kasturi Rangan report and it would not be implemented in Dakshina Kannada district. As I have raised another important question of disconnection of power to Anganwadi centers due to non payment of bill amount, government took the decision of installing solar panels to all Anganwadi centers“, he said.

Central government’s failure in implementation of schemes

Meanwhile, Ivan D’Souza opined that all projects of central government failed to fetch positive results. “Though MP Nalin Kumar Kateel fixed several deadlines for completing flyover project at Pumpwell and Thokkottu, it has not been completed so far. Even though Nalin assured of completing the project by 2018, it seems that the project would take another 20 years,” he said adding that all 17 MPs of Karnataka should strive hard to ensure proper implementation of government projects.
