Mangaluru: I am not an aspirant for the post of Chief Minister of Karnataka. If some of our leaders are anxious to become Chief Minister, what is wrong with that?, asked Minister for Urban Development and Housing U T Khader.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, April 28, Khader said that everyone has the ability to become Chief Minister of the state and there is nothing wrong with that. “If some of our leaders have expressed their desire to become Chief Minister, it doesn’t mean that there is a misunderstanding between them,” he said.
Meanwhile, Khader clarified that he is not in the race to become Chief Minister. “Even though I am justifying our leaders’ statements of wanting to become Chief Minister, it doesn’t mean that I am also in the race,” he said and added that he doesn’t want to become chief minister for another 10 to 15 years.
Commenting on the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls in the state, Khader said that even if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is confident of securing 23 seats and toppling the state coalition government after the election results are announced, there is no threat to the government.
“We have enough number of MLAs to prove our majority and the coalition government will complete its full term of five years,” he assured.
