Mangaluru: After Belthangady MLA Vasantha Bangera termed Endosulphan activist Shridhar Gowda Kengudle as a “Fake Endosulphan Victim”, the latter has decided to take up the issue to the deity of Kanathur Sri Nalvar Temple in Kasargod.
The Kanathooru Temple is also known as a seat of justice among the believers in the coastal district.
Shridhar Gowda, in a press meet in the city stated, “I am really pained by the MLA’s statement terming me a ‘Fake Endo-sulphan Victim.’ MLA has insulted me, despite the government doctors certifying that I am a victim. I will also fight this legally.”
“When Endosulphan was sprayed during 1983, he had failed to raise voice against it. And he is directly responsible for this tragedy in Belthangady Taluk.
When we held indefinite strike in Kokkada, MLA who visited us had stated that he would bring the issue to the notice of the chief minister and also raise it in the Assembly. But in the Assembly he had twisted his statement. It is not proper to speak in this manner when government is coming forward to provide compensation. Let him put sincere efforts to provide the compensation to the victims of Endosulphan.”
High Court Advocate Harish Poonja was present in the press meet.
