Mangaluru: People in the city finally had some respite from the raising temperature and sweltering heat after the skies opened up and rained on Wednesday, May 11 evening.

It was quite cloudy from afternoon which made people hope for rain. The light drizzle caught everyone by surprise.

People were seen rushing for cover as the rain increased. Some of the commuters on road were seen cherishing every rain drop.

Cool breeze accompanying the rain gave people the much needed relief from heat. These pre-monsoon showers have brought the temperatures down to some extent.

According to sources, Vittal and Ujire too experienced some showers.

Although it rained for only 20 minutes here, the rain was very refreshing. The fragrance from the earth of these pre-monsoon showers will comfort Mangalureans till the monsoon arrives.
