Mangaluru:At the time of communal violence in coastal Karnataka, several instances of people helping the victims keeping aside religious differences too are happening. One such example is of two youth Shekhar and Rohith, who immediately helped a Muslim man who was attacked by miscreants here at Kottara Chowki following the murder of Deepak Rao in Katipalla.
In both the cases of Deepak Rao and Basheer, youth from other religion helped the victims proving that humanity still exists. In the case of Deepak Rao, his friend Majid helped him whereas in the case of Basheer, two Hindu youth Shekhar and Rohith immediately shifted him to the hospital. Though Majeed could not save Deepak, in another case, timely help by the youth saved Basheer who is still at ICU after the brutal attack.
When Deepak was attacked by the goons, he sought Majeed’s help. He was attacked when he came out of Majeed’s house under whom he was working. Immediately, Majeed informed the locals and shifted Deepak to the hospital. But Majeed still regrets that he could not save Majeed.
In the case of Basheer, two Hindu youth Rohith and Shekhar, both ambulance drivers saw him in a pool of blood in the middle of the road. They shifted him to A J Hospital and saved his life. Shekhar who shared the incident, said, “During that time no religion comes to your mind. I am satisfied that Basheer is out of danger.”
