Bantwal: In a tragic incident reported from Netrakere school one student lost his right hand after a huge branch of a tree fell on him here on September 25.

The injured is identified as Hasanbba(11) son of Abdul Lateef a resident of Kodman.
The branch of the Ashwatha tree which is worshipped by everyone turned dangerous for these students. In the incident another two students Yathish and Naseema were also injured.
The incident took place here at Nethrakere school coming under Tumbe gram panchayat limits.
After having lunch students were studying for the exam. Soon after the branch fell, all the students ran from there. But three students were trapped. The branch has damaged the Wall constructed by Dharmasthala Gramabhivridhi Yojane. Nearby houses were also damaged in the incident.
Naseema suffered head injuries and the branch fell on back of Yathish. Soon both were taken to hospital. Nobody saw Hasanabba who was under the branch. After sometime people saw his broken hand and then they removed and was taken to Tumbe hospital. After primary aid he was taken to Mangalore hospital. The doctors cut the right hand which was already damaged in the incident.
He hails from a poor family. His father Lateef is a daily wage worker. His mother Mumtaz is a beedi worker. They have three children.
Hasanabba was good in studies as well as in extra-curricular activities. He was also good in painting. The incident has made him lose his right hand. They have sought help of those generous hands for his treatment.
District incharge minister B Ramanath Rai, Health minister U T Khader have assured of helping the poor family.
District panchayat member Ummar Farooq, Tumbe Gram panchayat president Mohammad Valavoor, ex taluk panchayath member Purusha Salian and many others have visited the family and consoled them.
