Mangalore : Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) will award Rs 1.5 lac each to the families of gas victims of Perne tragedy near Uppinangady in Puttur taluk, said union petroleum minister Veerappa Moily.
Addressing the media persons at circuit house, here on Monday May 20, minister Moily said that after discussing the issue with Deputy Commissioner and HPCL authorities, each family of gas victims will be awarded Rs 1.5 lac and for the injured Rs 50,000 by HPCL that has released a total of Rs 17 lac in this regard, said minister Moily. Besides, the state government has announced a package of Rs 48 lac for rehabilitation, added minister Moily.
The minister Moily also proposed another hi-tech blood bank at Lady Goschen Hospital, here.
Deputy Commissioner N Prakash, zilla panchayat CEO Dr K N Vijayaprakash, municipal commissioner Dr Harish Kumar were present at the occasion.
