Mangalore:  The incessant rains that have been lashing the region has led to the collapse of a wall of the house  of Krishnappa Gatti, a retired policeman near Kuttar in the outskirts of the city on Saturday August 2 night.

It is learnt, there is a possibility of the entire house collapsing owing to the damage to the foundation due to gushing in of rain water.

The loss has been estimated at over Rs one lakh. The local   Gram Panchayat President who visited the spot, has informed the local MLA and State Minister UT Khader of the loss incurred. He has also appealed to the government to extend compensation to the distressed family.
