Hotelier Chandrahas who offered meals for Rs 10 passes away

Mangalore :Hotelier Chandrahas Devadiga  who was immensely popular for the homely meals which he offered for Rs 10 at his hotel at Padavinangady,  has passed away. He was 58 and  died of a cardiac arrest. Devadiga is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter apart from innumerous well wishers.

He had been running a small hotel near the  Mahalasa Narayani Temple at Padavinangady since 1977 and managed to offer homely meals at an affordable price of Rs 10. Apart from meals, snacks, tea and coffee were also offered at lower rates at his hotel which was immensely popular.

Devadiga who as usual had returned from his hotel on June 18, Wednesday night had slept never to wake up. His family came to know about his death on Thursday morning. Several people visited his residence to pay their last respects to the popular hotelier.
