Mangalore : Two persons were seriously  injured in a hit-and-run case, that took place near City Centre Mall on KS Rao Road on Wednesday April 23.

A speeding Honda Civic car hit a bike around midnight injuring the duo on the bike, after which the three persons in the car fled from the spot.

One of the injured has been identified as Chandrashekar, a resident of Puttur. He along with another person was thrown off several metres away when the speeding car bumped into them.

The culprits fled the place soon after. However the police who arrived found their high-end mobile phones inside the car.

According to the sources the injured  lay on the road  for about 30 minutes before help arrived. One of the injured was rushed to Yenepoya hospital and another to AJ Hospital. Both are said to be in serious condition.

The identities of the person in the car are not yet known. Bunder police arrived at the spot and a complaint has been registered.
