Highway robbery at Thokkottu : Kasargod cops arrest 4

Kasargod: Four persons have been arrested by the Kasargod police   at Karandakkad in connection with the  case of threatening and  robbing  four persons  near Thokkottu. Cash and mobile phones were robbed from the four persons. Police have also seized a revolved, two swords, a dagger and a car from the arrested.

Those arrested  are  A Basheer Sarvi (32) of Mumbai, Mushtaq Abubakker Naqvi (31), Muneer Rafiq Khan (20) and Gulam Mohammed Ishaq Sheikh (33) from Thane near Mumbai.. 

The incident had taken place on July 31, Thursday night when four persons including Zakir, Mustafa, Iqbal from Shiriya near Kumble were heading towards their home from a hospital in Mangalore. It is learnt their  car was intercepted  by the accused on the pretext of asking the way to some destination.

But soon, one of them pointed a gun at Zakir and demanded cash and valuables.Terrified by the sudden turn of events those in the car handed over Rs 15000 and two mobile phones which they  had. The accused then reportedly fled in a Renault Duster car.

Wasting no time, Iqbal intimated his friends who in turn informed the Kasargod police about the car. The Duster car was then spotted near Karandakkad and the four arrested. The four were reportedly involved in many more criminal cases.

A police team from Ullal led by SI Dinesh visited Kasargod police station in connection with the case.
