Mangaluru: Due to the incessant rains that have been lashing across the Kodagu and Dakshina Kannada districts since Friday night, authorities have announced a holiday for schools on Saturday, June 7.

Schools located in the Kodagu district and the Sullia, Moodbidri, Belthangady and Puttur taluks of the Dakshina Kannada district will, therefore, remain closed today.

Though the Dakshina Kannada District Administration has not yet declared an official holiday for the schools, it is gathered that a few schools located in the flood-prone areas in Mangaluru have announced a holiday for its students as a precautionary measure.
